  28. If you think, bootpic viewers are slow and cause memory
  29. fragmentation, you should give ShowAmiga96 a try:
  30.  
  31. Unlike the others, this viewer saves the pictures as raw-data
  32. and can load them directly into the Picasso-bitmap.
  33. Another important feature is that the screen only exists in
  34. gfx-board memory. So during boot no extra amiga memory is
  35. used and fragmentation is minimized.

  38. If you think, bootpic viewers must offer many fade effects,
  39. a lot of screen action during startup and a handy user
  40. interface and have to cause memory fragmentation, you should
  41. give ShowAmiga96 a try ;-)

  43. This viewer is able to fade from the bootpic to Workbench
  44. without a noticable screen switch. While booting, SA96 can
  45. display an unlimited number of transfer anims. To configure
  46. all viewer settings you use the MUI-based prefs program.

  63.   itself automatically, if the last boot process could not be completed.
  64.   In this case SA96 will switch to debug mode (open WB with default
  65.   displayID, set "echo on" env-variable).

  67.   the boot shell window onto the bootpic screen. This hopefully(!) will

  143. Wer denkt, Bootbild Anzeiger sind langsam und verursachen Speicher
  144. Fragmentierung, sollte mal einen Blick auf ShowAmiga96 werfen:

  146. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Anzeigern speichert ShowAmiga96 die Bilder
  147. als Rohdaten, wodurch sie direkt in die Picasso-Bitmap geladen
  148. werden können.
  149. Eine weitere Besonderheit ist, daß die Bilddaten nur im Grafik-
  150. kartenspeicher existieren. So wird während des Bootvorgangs
  151. nicht unnötig Amiga-Speicher verschwendet und die Fragmentierung
  152. minimiert.

  155. Wer denkt, Bootbild Anzeiger müssen viele Überblendeffekte, eine
  156. Menge Action während des Bootvorgangs und eine praktische Be-
  157. nutzeroberfläche bieten, ohne die Speicher Fragmentierung zu
  158. kurz kommen zu lassen, sollte mal einen Blick auf SA96 werfen ;-)

  160. ShowAmiga96 kann vom Bootbild auf die Workbench überblenden, ohne
  161. daß der Bildschirmwechsel zu bemerken ist. Während des Bootens
  162. kann eine beliebige Anzahl Transfer-Anims abgespielt werden. Alle
  163. Einstellungen werden in einem komfortablen MUI-basierenden Prefs-
  164. Programm vorgenommen.

  187.   Screen. Ich hoffe(!), das umgeht die Probleme, die auf manchen Rechnern
  188.   auftreten, wenn ein Programm eine Textausgabe in die Boot-Shell tätigt.

  193. - In den Prefs auf der Seite Anmeldung kann jetzt eingestellt werden,
  194.   ob der Benutzername beim Login wie bisher automatisch als Vorgabe

  196.   Auf der gleichen Seite gibt es jetzt die Option, die Anmeldung nach
  197.   einem Reset automatisch durchführen zu lassen. Bei einem Kaltstart,
  198.   oder wenn nach dem Reset die DEL oder BACKSPACE Taste gedrückt wurde,
